Is it Right for Muslims to Burn the Holy Bible if We Burn the Qur’an?

Posted: September 14, 2010 in Politics, Uncategorized

When you here these words, Islam, Muslim and Qur’an, what is the first thing that pops up to mind? Do you think of Terrorist, Al Qaeda, and 9/11? Ever since September 11th 2001, the majority of Muslims have been seen as terrorists for what reason? Nine years later we remember what happen on this day nine years ago. Back in Early July, Pastor Terry Jones said that 9/11 is National Burn the Koran day. To me, as Christian, I am more than highly offended, because the word Christian is more than a religion. It basically means Christ-like, and also Muslim is an Arabic term for “Surrender to God”; Islam is another Arabic term for “Peace,” and the Qur’an is their version of the Holy Bible.

So who gives Christians the right to burn the Qur’an? What point will we prove if we burn the Qur’an, other than that Christians aren’t true to what the Bible says? And also that it is okay for Muslims to burn the Holy Bible because we did it to them. In the Bible 1st John Chapter 4 verse 20-21 states, “If a man say, I love God, and hateth his brother, he is a liar: for he that loveth not his brother whom he hath seen, how can he love God whom he hath not seen? And this commandment have we from him, That he who loveth God love his brother also.”

If God wants us to love one and another, how can Christian show not just Muslims but everyone else the love of God if we burn the Qur’an? We cannot do this. Because by us burning the Qur’an, it states that we do not care for what you believe in and that is not a part of God. When I heard that Pastor Terry Jones said, “Lets make 9/11 National Burn the Koran day,” I was so hurt because a true Man of God would not want to do such a harmful and ignorant act. For example, I am a Deacon of a church and even as a Deacon I still have good friends that are Muslims, and I treat them the same as my brothers and sisters in Christ. Well to be fully honest, we are all brothers and sisters in the eyes of God because he is the one who created us all. Whether you call him Allah, God, Holy One, the Man up stairs, Abba and the other thousands of name God has, we still have to RESPECT one another’s beliefs, religion and Godly views in life.

So Pastor Terry Jones, as a Man of God who’s been called to preach the Gospel (good news), please, I repeat, respect Muslims and the way that they worship God (Allah).

  1. Again, you have selected an excellent image for this post. People who burn the Koran are placing our troops in greater danger. It’s really ignorant to burn the Koran anyway. I’m really not sure he really understands what he is trying to accomplish through this Koran burning stuff. Very good piece, Wayne!
